Back To the Blues, Mr. Baker

GT12 is back in Blue State Bliss. The journey to Ohio was fun, if a bit wearying (long drives, extended hours and more beer than we have had for entire last two months combined).

We did have the opportunity to spread the good word of GT12 faves such as Jon Langford, Amy Rigby, Rhett Miller and Cracker. We also found ourselves defending Johnny Cash to a fan of someone called 'Keith Urban'. We were a bit disoriented by this.

No One wanted to talk politics. We were more than a bit disoriented by this. But, given the shameful political landscape in OH, we can understand trying to just 'keep crazy Granny in the basement.'

We learned, not for the first time, that there is a limit to how cheap a motel room should be (when travelling solo we travel a bit downscale).

We learned that Meier has a wide selection of coffee but that it is easy to mistake the decaf for the real beans.

We want to stress that OH people remain funny, generous and loyal (including our visitee, my best friend for 42 years). Thanks for the good times and the Newcastle Browns.
