U2 singer Bono granted knighthood by British Queen


Dublin- Bono, lead singer with the rock group U2, has beenawarded an honorary knighthood by the British queen, the Britishembassy in Dublin said Saturday.


The 46-year-old Irishman - whose real name is Paul Hewson - wasgranted the honour for "his services to the music industry and forhis humanitarian work."
