What about Sam Seaborn? Rob Lowe will be returning for one or two of the last episodes. After all CJ has never been elected to public office and was just a publicist in Hollywood before joining the Bartlet campaign. And, there is no evidence that Matt Santos even knows her. At least Sam was a lawyer and has run for office. But, you are probably right about CJ - unless they just make up a new character - no other current cast member is more likely. Either way, I'm going to miss the West Wing.
The tip for me was Charlie's obsession w/CJ's after WW employment in the same episode that they killed off Leo. I mean, CJ and Danny did not appear very Veepish in the opening episode flash forward but I think its a small detail that couldn't be anticipated.
Plus, having gotten a minority member elected Pres, you can see them liking the extra op to put a Woman in at #2.
And, I think CJ's character has grown more than any of the others.
Sam made the fatal error of leaving an administration created to save his dying Hollywood career. He's probably a pollster for some sad sack green party candidate.
